Project Description

On the morning of February 12, 2014, a massive sinkhole opened up inside the National Corvette Museum’s Skydome swallowing eight priceless corvettes. Scott, Murphy and Daniel were one of the first calls that morning and on site within hours of this tragic event to structurally evaluate and stabilize the building to prevent further loss. In addition, we were hired the next day to restore this facility and become a part of worldwide history. During construction 4,000 tons of manufactured sand were used to fill the hole, 69 micro piles up to 200 feet in length were installed and approximately 14,000 sq ft of concrete structural slabs where installed all while the world watched on live feeds.
