Fruit of the Loom Distribution Center Expansion

Fruit of the Loom Distribution Center Expansion consisted of a 198,818 sq ft warehouse expansion, 1,040 sq ft office expansion, and 2,323 sq ft office expansion.
The project site required over 90,000 cubic yards of soil and rock fill to create the building pad and treating a sinkhole over 50 feet deep. The common wall in the existing warehouse remained in place until the end of construction, then removed to open up to the existing warehouse. Truck traffic for shipping and receiving had to be diverted and shut down the existing truck docks. The expansion added 20 new dock positions. During the project the country was experiencing Portland cement shortages and concrete pours were allocated to 200 cubic yards per week. With our relationships with concrete suppliers, we were able to receive 6,000 yards of concrete over a 6-week period and maintain the project overall schedule.
